Easy Updos for Short Hairstyles

Some assume that getting a cut above the shoulders means our styling options are limited. However, stylists have plenty of ideas on how to craft updos that are elegant, edgy, practical – whatever the occasion calls for.  Here are six gorgeous updos that can be done without long, flowing locks.

Tuck it into a headband.

Perfect for hair that hits just above the shoulders. Slip a headband over your head, but instead of pulling your hair through the back, let it sit on top. Leave one front section out for an accent braid. Take your loose ends and roll them up, tucking the end into the headband. Secure each section with bobby pins. Create a loose, wide braid with that front piece, and pin it back. Use your fingers to finish this look off; you don’t want to sections to be obvious.
